Onyx collection

ONYX represents a fusion of elegance and excellence, embodying different facets of modern beauty. The matte surfaces are exceptionally durable and provide a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

The technologically advanced surface is made of mass-dyed wood pulp soaked in acrylic resin. In the final stage of production, it is cured by an electron beam (EBC), creating an extremely scratch-resistant layer. This contributes to an extremely long life.

The ONYX coating is produced without the use of solvents or formaldehyde. The wood pulp used for the ONYX coating comes from FSC®-certified forests.

Please note that the colours are for illustration purposes only.

Thanks to the use of advanced materials and modern machinery, Forner delivers furniture fronts that are characterized by an almost seamless connection between the panel surfaces and edges.

The materials used to cover the edges and boards are very flexible. This makes it easier to work with. Free from defects that can occur with lacquered materials that are much more brittle and prone to cracks or notches.

The advantage is the colour fastness: they retain their depth and brightness for years.

Thanks to nanotechnology, micro-scratches are easy to remove. Simply with a cotton cloth and iron or hair dryer.

We pay a lot of attention to protect our environment. The Velvet foil is made from polymer. This is created from 100% recycled materials.  These materials are food safe and used to produce lunch boxes etc. Our core boards use only wood-based products that are FSC-certified.

Panel core

Forner Velvet furniture board is mainly produced on MDF board. The core surface is covered on both sides with ultra-matt foil.

The size of the Velvet Ultra Matt panel is 2800 x 1300 mm. Thickness 18.7 mm.

On request we can produce Ultra-Matt Velvet furniture panels with a different backing foil.

Check out our core board section for more available options

Colour matching

Approximate colour matches of Velvet furniture panels can be found in the NCS, RAL and PANTONE colour palettes. The colour code of our product usually corresponds to one of these palettes.

Edge banding

We have edges that match 100% in colour and material with Velvet Ultramat furniture panels to the panel surface. The edges are available in the sizes 23/1 mm and 43/1 mm and are made of the same material that Forner uses for his Velvet panels.
There are also thicker bezels available on the market from bezel manufacturers that can be color matched to Velvet records.

The processing of the edges for Velvet panels is the same as for PVC edges. A normal edging machine is used. For gluing the edge we use waterproof PUR glue, but other glues can also be used. The glue is applied hot and pressed cold by the pressure roller.

Our PUR glue is heated to a temperature of 140 degrees the same as for Cleaf or acrylic edges despite its 0.35 mm thickness of Velvet. The secret is a well prepared front.

The border line is virtually invisible.
